After you graduate
Post-study work rights are the most important factor — and the most likely to change. Here is the position as of today.
After you graduate, you can apply for a temporary residence permit to look for work or start a business. It is generally granted for up to 9 months. Once you are employed, you move to a work-based permit.
Immigration rules, eligibility and salary thresholds change frequently and without notice. Always verify the latest official guidance before you apply, and never treat any figure here as a guarantee of future entitlement.

Visa, work & money rules
The official rules behind your visa, work, family and budget planning. Rules change often, so confirm each point on the official government or university website before you apply.
Visa & permit fees
The national (Visa D) student visa fee is €200 from 1 January 2026.
Work while studying
If you are a full-time student with a study residence permit, you can work without a separate work permit.
Proof of funds
You must show funds to cover your living costs, tuition and return travel for your intended stay, in line with the current maintenance thresholds. This is a visa requirement, separate from actual living costs.
Admission requirements
Check that your qualification is recognised for admission. NAWA (the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) handles recognition questions. Some Indian first-year or qualification situations need a recognition step before you can enrol.
